I put the side cover on a heat lamp for 30min after it was setup enough to touch it.
let it cool for an hour then color sanded it with 1000 grit then 2000 grit. looks like red chalk ![]() ![]() then buffed and polished it. you can see the metallic in this pic ![]() sorry to all the purist's, but I do like the look of stock. with a twist. like my trans am. GM never did a white and gold TA in 79. so thats how I restored mine. ![]() the slite color difference in the frame and cover is fine. you see it more from the flash from the camera then just looking at it. I didnt want it spot on any way. ![]()

I don't mind a bit of metallic in my paint. That is looking real good. The main thing is that you are protecting the panels and they are set to go for another couple of decades of use.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
