So I have the cab frame painted now. Just have to weld the base for the door handles on the doors and they are ready for paint. Then it will be ready to have the door seals put on and ready for winter. Still need to figure out what to do about the steering on it. May try tri-ribs first before the power steering? Might be cheaper??

Have to see how noisy it is this winter inside the cab - may have to add some foam on the inside. Doubt I will get any decals on it this year the way the fall is going. Starting to combine soybeans this weekend if all goes well and the corn is not far behind it! I am actually surprised we have had weather this nice for as long as we have. Seen on tv today at lunch the poor buggers in Saskatchewan got SNOW!!!! Think it was 2 or 3 inches on the ground and more to come. HA! They can keep it! I bet there are a few farmers out there who have some choice words for the weather man!

I've had very good luck with Dynomat; (or similar) to quite down and insulate interiors...

link to a cheaper version... http://www.ebay.com/itm/251811592289

also, it's going to look great with or without decals

All I can say is, "Why would anyone want to work without a cab in the winter!??" Talk about an enjoyable job now. Blowing snow, sitting inside the cab, wind blowing like crazy, all nice and cozy warm in the cab. Oh, there is another blast of snow dust on the the window - guess I will have to turn on the wiper - instead of gritting my teeth and freezing my face!

It was a long time coming - but SO worth it!

Ok, unless your phone has froze up, how about some pics of the entire machine in its work clothes. Interested to see how this turned out!

Nawh...just wanted to tease you more!

So it still needs a stripe put on the cab - hopefully will get that done in the spring. It didn't turn out exactly as I wanted it to - trying to keep it as much as possible to the '88 series paint scheme. But I couldn't get the two paints to line up without it looking odd. So hopefully once the stripe goes on (even though it won't be lined up with the hood) it will still look ok and blend in to make it look right. I know it won't be perfect, but only the people with a keen eye and really picky will notice the stripes should line up.

I guess for first try its not too bad. Really would like to try another model to do some customizing to in the future. I like reading about people who give these Cubs their own touch.

These are the only pictures I have so far of it. Need to get some of it outside in daylight.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
