today I started the bodywork on the tins. the waves from the stamping press are terrible. with a hammer and dolly and got a few dings and waves out. then the filler will do the rest.
![]() ![]() 36 grit on the DA. then 80 grit on the file board. there is a few high spots still in them but I'll 2k prime and block them with 180 grit to see how high they are. (hard to tell with the 80 grit marks in them) ![]() 2 coats of 2k over the filler . the 2nd coat I thinned to fill the sand marks once it flows out. (flash time was 15min between coats ) ![]() ![]()

thanks guys.. wait till you see the paint I just picked up to do a test with.
I told them at my paint store the frame , tower and what not I wanted the stock color. but the tins I want to a little more of a custom paint. Im doing one of the side covers now. and first coat of clear is on it. I'll have pics in a few hours. its a base/clear and the clear is tinted. it should look like a cub red mirror. ( I hope )

I worked on getting one side cover ready for paint and got it sealed
![]() ![]() got it in the base coat paint , and the clear in the cup is tinted. yep, thats metallic in the clear. ![]() ![]() ![]() you really cant see in the pics what it looks like. I'll try later to get it out in the sun . maybe the pics will show what it really looks like. it has a little peel in it, but that will color sand buff and polish right out. ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
