I got the 100 back up and running. Had it torn down to replace the clutch teaser spring and made a new driveshaft. I found that the pulleys on my hydraulic pump system were worn in the V. I originally made the pulleys from aluminum but now they are steel so they should not wear out again.
I also had to weld up my muffler where the inlet goes in. It was cracked almost all the way around. The heat shield/muffler mount was cracked around the bolt holes too. I cut off my stack and made it into a short deflector to keep from cracking the muffler again. After the 100 was fixed, I hooked up my trailer and cleaned up the limbs from the yard after the heavy wind we had last week. I hauled the mower deck to the shed and threw the snow blade on to get ready for the snow to start flying.

I'm always amazed by what this little Cub will pull. I've had a good amount of weight on that trailer before and it never has trouble pulling. It's only when you try stopping or going down hill and turning a sharp corner I seem to have to watch it. I think the old cub may get a brake controller installed. I would feel better then.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
