For those of you that have the rear PTO style 3 point hitch I can now say that the brace fits. Just put one on my 2284 that is now owned by CADplans.

Just got mine on my 2084 and it fits great. Seems to stiffen up the rear of the tractor nicely.

the mounts?? where exactly are you talking about on the mounts? got any pictures on where it breaks at.

Nope, no welding needed, the new transaxle supports just went under three point lower arm brackets - bolt on.

Once that was done, how much side to side swing does the arms have now that the bases are further apart? Little to no difference?

I don't figure it's much and wondering if there is a place for chains on mine but they weren't on mine when I got it and don't remember seeing any point to put chains to attach them to.

It moves the bottom of the arms out 3/8" each, so the only real difference is the arms are now able to come 3/4" closer at the implement connection point (total).

I can not tell the difference.

BUT, boy, the tractor is STIFF!! With the 1872, you could feel the foot treads "flex" going over uneven ground. Not the 2284.

The arms made the frame rigid!! I like it!!

See post #48. My 1572 looks just like that picture, as do many SGTs. If there is one flaw in the Cub Cadets it is the connection method of the rear end to the frame.

I think I created a monster. Spent a good part of the day working on a set for the GT's. Leadslingingdaddy supplied an 1863 that he pulled the engine out of for one of his tractors. He sent me the frame with the rear in it. If you guys with the Suppers think it's only the Suppers that tear up the rears think again. This thing had 2 broken bolts in the axle tube on one side and something I have never seen, one of the steel mounts that bolt to the case and the frame was broken in half. The aluminum case is good but everything else was loose or missing. Anyway I had a good case and a set of axle tubes to use for the mockup. Gotta love Cub, what I made for the SGT's won't fit the GT's but I have a set that will. The guy that cuts them for me is gonna kill me when I ask him to make another program to cut them and my guess is the machine shop won't be happy after they made a jig to drill them. I'll post some pics tomorrow.
