I also had the issue of not having the tighter turn radius than my old mechanical steering did. I switched the ram pivot hole on the short arm out to the hole closest to the wheel and that cured it at once. I am not sure if you have two holes on your pivot arm or not. The two holes were only about one inch apart, center to center, but after I switched, the spindles hit the axle stops at full turn but didn't before.

Almost complete with the upgrades to the 782. I must say I absolutely LOVE the power steering. We did quite a bit of yard work yesterday moving rocks and paving stones. Also pulling out underbrush from an overgrown area. My wife and son both spent time driving it and both commented on how much easier it was to drive.
I still need to make a couple of spacers for the front wheels, and redo the bushings in the spindles. I also need to debug the differences in the turning radius from left to right. (inspectorudy's tips) Here's a couple of pics from yesterday; Steering ram. ![]() Front hydro ports, still need to order the caps. ![]() Dual controls. ![]() |

Thanks, she's not as pretty as some of the full blown resto's on here, but I'm partial to her. I will keep the sheet metal off of the 2072, and repaint it red, do all the decals, then swap it out with what she's wearing now. That's down the road a piece.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
