RandyD,
Haven't seen our cat (Gracie) for a day or two. I think you have her ![]() Todd, Rattle can Rust-oleum Antique White, over Rust-oleum gray automotive primer. I am not sure I would recommend this paint, as it stays soft a long time. I did pick up the rest of the stainless hardware today. Then need to fab the handle to move the outlet hood. Mountain Heritage, Thanks for reminding me that these are supposed to go on a tractor. I may not do that this season? I have another tractor to plow with and may take this implement to some local shows next year??? We will see? Allen, Thanks. You guys and this forum have helped a bunch keeping me focused and moving on this snow thrower project! Regards, Chris

Had some time tonight to try to complete this "snow thrower" project.
I built the handle to turn the chute. This is from stainless tubing 3/8 O.D. 1/4 inch I.D. I bent the handle as best I could then welded the joint and welded on the rod down to the U joint connection. 32 inches total length. It seems to work fine. Second shot is of the two 3/8 set screws that I need to finish the drive line. I picked up 5/16 dia. set screws by mistake. The third is the left handed belt tightener that I made. Note: I drilled the hole for the castellated nut to close to the handle so I had to turn the nut around. Should work OK since the nut really doesn't see much load. This should be about it for this project. I hope it helps someone as they work on these implements. My guess is I have around $250 in it for bearings, paint, and fasteners and misc items. I guess I will add a before and after shot too. Regards, Chris

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
