Went to start up the ole beast today and it was surging, come to find out the jets in the carb were dirty...so not to prolong the pain and repeated trouble, I went ahead and pulled the fuel tank, flushed and replaced the gromment and the tank valve, fuel filter and IT ROARED BACK TO LIFE.
So the grandson had to take it for a "closely supervised" test drive.

Yes he is already addicted to cub tractors. He actually wakes up in the mornings and tells us about his dreams of tractors.
Getting them hooked on stuff like this early in life can only help to keep the interested in this when they grow up. Got some pics of him with his "green" battery powered tractor jacked up with a floor jack and laying underneath of it working, while I am working on the cub......wouldn't want to offend and post it on here but the caption could read...."Even the little Green Tractors Break Down".

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
