Too funny! I know what your talking about eating off people's floors. A couple guys I know have garages like this at home that they actually do work in, then there are others that can barely open the door without things falling outside! Its funny how different we all are in the way we work and just how much clutter we can tollerate! Look forward to more updates when you have them.

Dead in the water right now. I have a long list of excuses.
I think I have the wiring harness figured out, just needs to be put on. Once that is done it is mostly just adjusting everything and maybe a few other little items to add or improve on. Then, tear it all down and paint. I think that's it. It's been so long since I touched it I can't even remember where I stopped.

I want to get back to work on this thing so I'm back to the wiring harness. I was going one route but I think I can use a wiring harness from an 1810 1811 or 1812. Is there any reason this wouldn't work? If I got everything related such as the relays, solenoid, ignition it seems it should work just fine. Any reasons it wouldn't work with the 1860 engine? They both are the same engine and the plug from the engine is the same as the 1810 plug.

That looks great, I like the paint job too. I just wish I could get some time to spend on mine. I have a week off at Christmas and hope to spend some one on one time with it

Well, I finaly have the tractor wired Thanks to darkminion_17 (Lew) for selling me a very nice wiring harness from an 1810 complete. I had to splice and lengthen a few wires to reach gauges, and find a new location for the relay inside the dash tower. But for the most part it fit rather well.

I still need to do some work, lots of little things to get it running. It's sat so long I hope the carb is in good shape. Oh well, atleast it will turn over now.

Here are a few pictures, can't tell much other than the dash tower is FULL. I mounted the oil pressure light in the dash beside the choke. I have a new hour meter and amp gauge. The dash tin is rough, I'll be replacing it once everything is done.
Wasn't sure about the relay and where to mount it. Not sure if heat is an issue with them or not. I think it's out of the way of any major heat?
All splices where made with crimp fittings and then covered with heat shrink tubing.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
