Nice that you got the governor fixed.

Xtreme ope is where I got my pto at, they offer a conversion package for the tractors with the older style ones.

Well i'm still chugging away with getting this machine up to the running condition it would be in. The rear main seal was leaking so bad the PTO clutch magnet became so soft it was starting to regrade and the bearing was toast. I was at Lew's place and picked up a new style PTO and ordered the clutch stop and space from Cub cadet. I made a grounding harness and grounded it to the block and made a jumper from the tractor harness to PTO harness.

I also started to service the transmission and replace the leaking axle seal and managed to kill the new seal because i forgot my seal driver set at work and tried to cheat and use a large socket that was to small.

John,
Pto looks good, better than being in a box. Too bad about the seal, one place I know to find one was in Antarctica or the zoo....
This PTO came off a 2042, all he needed was the spacer and the stop .
Good to know if you are looking for a replacement for your one eyed wonder.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
