Don't worry about the drop. Flip the carb over, level, float should be level in closed position with the needle and seat installed.

It does, look at your pic you posted of the float, it's in between the two eyelets, it's what the needle rests on and is bendable. But What Craig said is fine, will work just fine that way

Thanks Alvy, I've got it back together and pretty much have it working within the limits. The only thing is that at 1200 rpm s, the engine shakes like crazy. When I adjust to around 1080 it smooths out and sounds great. Is that normal?

Thanks, I'll readjust tomorrow. I was wondering about the 3800. The engine manual mentioned 3600 max but the cub manual talked about 3800 no load, 3600 load. Thanks again!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
