Gary
Your drive shaft flange just should bolt up to the adapter. You may need to play with the shaft length but that should be it. |

The flange on your drive shaft should just bolt up to the adapter. The bolt pattern should be the same. It was on my 1210. |

A few things got done today. As you can see I got the engine mounted but first I had to build a 3/4" riser to line up the driveshaft height. I used the old Kohler block, crank and adapter coupling as a reference. The PTO clutch bolted right up with out any problem, except my so call basket case Kohler engine was missing one stud bolt for mounting the clutch. That shouldn't be a problem. The choke cable is long enough but the throttle cable will have to be extended. The starter on the Briggs is on the right side so I will be extending the starter cable too.
DSCF1197.jpg DSCF1198.jpg DSCF1196.jpg DSCF1199.jpg As you can see I still need to figure out the driveshaft hook up. I think I'm going to be extending it beings the crank is about 4" shorter than the Kohler.

The flywheel-to-driveshaft adapter from a 1641 or 1440 should work. Don't forget the flywheel screen, too.

As Matt said the adapter from 1440 or a 1641 will work as will any of the adapters used in the 2000 series with Briggs engines. That's why I gave you the part numbers from a 2160. You will need to make a longer drive shaft. I'm sure Matt can tell you how to do it the easy way. Sam |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
