Did a little road trip today up to Chris Westfall’s place and picked up a 60" Haban, a nice 44" and some parts for Big Vince O and Joe Allen. Chris is a very cool guy. Wish I could have spent a couple hours at his place. He has a cool Cub trencher and a Magna trac. I could get in trouble there.

Saturday, I went over my plowed food plot for the second time with a spring tooth harrow, which pulls out weeds, smooths the soil a bit, and stirs up the top inch or two of soil. Then I seeded 100lbs of winter wheat, plus an expensive blend of Rape and White Clover that I bought at Tractor Supply.
Then I harrowed it again with the teeth set shallow. As I covered the seeds with the harrow and The 147, my 10 year old daughter pulled the trailer around with the Deere lawn tractor to make good contact with the soil.

I figure it is about half an acre, but I'll get measurements next time. This picture is after I plowed and harrowed once, two weeks ago.

Today, the 147 and front blade cleared out some brushy woods to make a tent site for the kids. I was happy that a Cub Cadet is effective against Multiflora Rose.

Sam, Todd has it, right! The 2130 is her tractor.

We'll be there, Todd! Looking forward to seeing you again.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
