Just curious, what RPM does the blade turn on those, I thought the PTO was somewhere around 500 but that seems awfully low for mowing. Even with the longer blade, the tip speed would only be about 70 mph. Is there a gear box that speeds it up?

The rear PTO on the Cubs turns at 2000 rpm. EDIT: and backwards.

Oh ok , that explains it. That would put the tip speed at around 250 mph . Cut quality must be very good.

Todd,
A buddy of mine has been working with Maple Hunter on some decals. He had me take a high res pic of the diesel fuel filter decal on one of my smokers, size, and all wording and MH was going to make him a decal. Check with them. I bet they'd make you one, or make more of them.

Well gentlemen, this saga has come to an end for me. I met up with a fellow member tonite and passed the mower on to what I believe will be a good home. I'll leave it up to the member to speak up if he would like but it was good to see him again and shoot the breeze for a bit. Hope the trip home is a safe one and until next time!

Ryan,
It was good to meet up with ya again. I promise it went to a good home. Appreciate you giving me the opportunity to add it to my herd. Always a good thing meeting up with OCC members. You've got a couple nice cubs. Pics don't do them justice. The shed door is always open at my place if you're in the area. Thanks again!

Thank you sir! Now it's my turn to take a tour of your stable although like I said, I'm a bit afraid to climb on a diesel because then I may never look at my gassers the same

I did forget to mention one very important part of our deal, though; once you get it hooked up and try it out, you know the drill, pics are required!!

I promise I'll get some pics once she's hanging off the back of one of the Supers. And your always welcome to stop out and drive a smoker or three. Thanks again Ryan. Like I said before, really appreciate the chance to snag it!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
