Nice find Ryan! Where are your finding all these 169's?? You must have good connections! Atleast this one's got the 13 fin in it. Now you've gotta find a couple mufflers. The heat shields are being remanned. I bought one a couple years ago for my second 169. It was a little heavier steel than the original, but everything lined up and she looked good painted up. That 169 has since went down the road. Actually went west of Cedar Rapids, towards your stomping grounds......................

Thanks for the pics!

Thanks Josh! They were pretty tricky to find, but they were the right price and fairly close. The latest was out in Carroll...the first one was out in Maquoketa. Billy Hayes just west of town had it. Mufflers will be tricky..I think for now ill try and get the second one running, see how it works...get the first one running with the 14hp engine and use them till I have time to fix them up.

Ive bought every cub Ive owned non running...so if it was a good running 169 it wouldn't be in my shed! Thanks again.

I may have asked this before...but where can the right mufflers be found for these 169's? On the second one, the PO said he put this regular style muffler on it when the original rusted out. Was this common? Does anyone have pics of their 169's for reference they could show me? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thank you Cubcrazy. Its not in too bad of shape for its age

You may want to put up a wanted add here on the site and also check with our sponsors at the top of the page. Those are hard to find, but they are out there at times. Of course like anything hard to find, they will be more $$$$ than standard.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
