Here's some of the NY fleet:

the first cub in NY, a 1250 I saved from scrap...by now it has the air filter installed but alas no side covers were found. Here it was moving a trailer around the yard. I tried pulling at a stone boat pull with it and found out what everyone says about Hydros and pulling is 100 percent correct. THe 122 outpulled it easily.

Here's a 147 I picked up for parts, all set up after sitting outside for several years. It gave its gas tank and front rims to the 122 puller, along with head bolts and bracketry. I found the engine was NOT seized, just the belts and PTO Clutch were preventing it from turning over. I will need to sell the remains when I get back to NY, Can't bring it to TX.

There's also an Original and a 1450 up there I haven't figured out wher the pics are yet.

Nice ones truckntran! Pretty nice 1250...wonder why someone would scrap it?

You'll have to look me up when you get to NY, I could possibly use some parts from your ol' 147 for my 127 that my son and I are working on (actually its for him....when he gets a little older:biggrin2.gif

Very nice set up! I have been toying with the idea of making a tandum axle trailer with a walking beam axle on it....used for wood primarily and make it out of aluminum....costly as heck I am positive...but the end result will be one heck of a cadialac of a trailer!! A guy I used to work with is a welder now.....think I can squeeze him for a good deal on welding - I hope!

Default Cubs sun tanning

Decided to pull a few of the Cubs out and put the finishing touches on them. It should only take a day or two to finish them up. I have three more ready to go also.

Thanks everyone. In the lineup pictured are seven 782, two 682's and one 782D. My Dad has had the 782D for about 20 years now. It replaced a 782 My Dad bought new. We used to cut about 20 lawns a year and we pretty much wore the 782 out, after putting 1200 hours on it, and he traded it for the 782D. I always rode the 782 and later the 782D while my brother used a 982. The 982 had a 60" deck, and dual brakes. The last year we cut grass, we replaced the 982 with a 1450, my Dad picked up cheap. He sold that off when we quit cutting. He wishes he could have kept them both now...

He started collecting the 82 series about 5 years ago, when his uncle dropped off a 682 he picked up at a auction cheap with a blown KT17. Since then that has just about how he got them all. I think the best one came from a auction that people could not get to run. Tons of people kept cranking it over, and never got it to fire. He bought it cheap, put some gas in it, and we drove it out.:biggrin2.gif:

My Dad now has a dozen 82 series tractors. two more 682's, and 2 more 782's sice that picture was taken.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
