A creeper is not needed for a moldboard plow.
Speed is your friend when you are plowing a garden. 2nd gear works well. Plowing up sod?? Well then, all bets are off as it is a real PITA, even with a tiller! You will wish you hadn't even tried. Same for plowing snow, Hammer down, roll that white crap off the blade and outta the way!! Just be sure you KNOW what's under the stuff and don't hit a curb box or high spot or you WILL Break something!! |

A tiller will want to PUSH the tractor big time if the ground is hard and packed and if you are tilling too deep.
I usually fall plow and then till in the spring for best results in my garden plots. Plan on close to 1000 hills of potatoes this year. |

If it is an original shaft, it should be scored where it is supposed to be cut for a creeper installation.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
