Hydraulic lines and quick connectors installed.

This will be my first cub with front and rear quick connectors. I am sensing a hydraulic dump trailer in my future but I have to build the 3 pt for this tractor first. Tees went on easy and having the hydraulic lines built with 90 degree ends made the installation nice and clean. Next steps to install engine, firewall and gas tank. At that point should be able to fire the tractor up and check for hydraulic leaks and set the neutral on the pump.

Have a little paint touch up on hood and side panels.

Slowing moving forward.

Engine mounting spacers - Since I picked up this tractor as a engineless I just realized I was missing the engine spacers. Went to local hardware store and picked up 4 shaft collars for 7/16 shaft. They ran $2 each and had a thickness of 0.444. It actually worked very well. I put bolts through the base plate and locked them into position with the shaft collar. Lowered the engine down and tightened everything down.

Dropped engine into tractor and hooked up driveshaft. Went to mount gas tank but hydraulic lines were in the way. I had to rearrange the fittings to the front and rear ports. Basically I had to rotate the tees to clear the gas tank.

Fired engine up and took the 782 for a walk around the yard. First time I have ever seen it move under it own power!

No leaks on hydraulic lines. Pump sounds good.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
