Sam Mac. That is the same axel housing that I used for my narrow front.
Homebuilt. This is the first time I've seen this thread, but if I would have seen it earlier would have recommended to use 26x12x12 in the rear. Still looks good with 23s, they just sit a little more level with 26s. Also are those 6 or 8 inch front tires. Can't really tell by the picture?

I wanted 26x12-12s but they don't fit down in a 10" furrow as well. now i'll find a 12" moldboard. I as of today this will sit dang close to level, not nearly as sloped as in the previous pic. they are 6" fronts.

things have been slow here, between work, the weather, the family, and just about anything that could go wrong! good news is my new to me sandblaster is in and running. I need to run a larger feed line to it, my compressor keeps up pretty good but the hoses are holding the air back. i'm going to run a 3/4" pipeline out just for the blaster. i'm hoping to get the frame blasted in the next day or two before the rain shows up. then it'll get primed and painted. I've got a long list of those "little things" that I need to get to keep this project moving. some on order, some I just need to get. I need to get parts to to my machinist, spring will be here soon and I need this to plow my garden!!!!

it seems like i'm alway's on the run, after work today I stopped for a cup of coffee. as I walk out of the station I realize my front tire looks like this \ . wheel bearing shot, so I limped it home. stole the wifes buggy and off to advance auto I go. on the bright side while there I came across these cute little things.
![]() I also got the frame blasted as planned, the new sand blaster works awesome. unfortunately I did not get a pic of it after blasting, but here she is with a nice fresh coat of paint. ![]() |

I managed to get a little bit done today. I got the hole's cut for the new gauges, and got the dash painted. I also got the cover pulled off the rear end. I couldn't believe how much water was inside it. i'm letting it drain over night before I finish pulling it apart. here's a few pic's of what I got done today. the rest of my day was spent picking up the shack as it has accumulated a lot of stuff do to the many projects going on.

the holes for the gauges are 1 5/8" if I remember correctly they referred to them as 1.5" gauges. the oil is mechanical and the voltage is electrical of course. the "kit" also came with a temp gauge but that's not real useful in this application. cost was $30. thanks for the compliments to all.

Thanks for the info on the gauges, I've been using Sunpro stuff. I'll have to check out the Bosch gauges.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
