Thank you all very much for your response. This collection of Cub Folks is awesome! What fantastic and worthwhile information was provided. Thank you all again. As you all can see from my signature list I have a few different Cubs of the old variety and the Cyclops variety as well. I'm like Sam, I like the Cyclops for my mowing duties, I really like the 1864 with the 54" deck. I enjoy the strong framed tractors, the ones that don't twist when you go over uneven ground, like my twisting 2186. I mainly bought that one for the 18hp engine as a backup for my 1864. Sorry, back on topic....
I think I'll pass on this 1250. I really hate it when they wash them and take a photo when it's wet. Sort of deception to me. Lucky for me, I found the exact same 1250 on an older listing listed for $300 all dirty and a mess. The current owner probably gave $250 for it, washed it and is try to get $500 for it. I appreciate his efforts but this was just too obvious. I wouldn't give him more than $300 but I'm not even going to see it now. I've found a one owner 1641 with the same 54" deck on it that my 1864 has that I think I'm more interested in. It's up around $1500 but it certainly looks worth the money. Thanks again all and sorry for the long response but I find I can talk about these yellow creature for a longtime and never tire of it. Randy

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
