Got the crankcase cover off today, and there's writing on the side of the crank, .010 and the balance gears are gone!
Also seems the cylinder wall is as slick as a sheet of glass, I didn't check the top of the piston for marks yet, (have to get the carbon off) but I'm wondering if this engine has been rebuilt once already?
Ideas?

Todd it sounds like it's been rebuilt already if the crank has .010 on it. What does the piston have on it?

Haven't looked at the piston yet. But been doing some reading, and am I correct that there wouldn't be balance gears in my 100's engine?

I am under the impression they were installed in the WF's and the QL's, not the NF's.

The NF (k321 14 hp) I completed last fall had balance gears which did not get re-installed.

Probably good the balance gears are not in there. Are the pins that that they spin on there still? Any way sounds like you may be able to clean up the head new gaskets and skip the rebore.

Default head and piston and crank
Well I need the experts opinion. I cleaned up the piston top and head, as I mentioned before, seems the crank has .010 written on it, and now I see the piston has .020 stamped in it.
What do you guys think? Why would they be different numbers?
Also notice the little gouge on the head, what's that all about?

The crank has been been turned .010 under and the block been bored .020 over. Someone has probably tried cleaning the head before with something a little too sharp. Just my best guess on the head gouge.

Also what about rebuild, it didn't smoke or go through oil, just do the valves and put it back together? I sure wouldn't want to do anything else, right?

Yeah the gouge will be fine, it obviously hadn't caused a problem yet. Same goes for a rebuild. If the motor was running good just freshen it up some and put it back together. It might be worth having someone mic the bore and crank, but I would bet they will measure within spec with no problem.
