The side decals that say '127'. The dash decal itself has been replaced. I wish I could have kept the original tin, but it was just too beat up. That would have been really cool.

I will definitely say, this is something that can become addictive. I'll be the first to admit this wasn't a 100% restore, but I do know with how it was to begin with and what stuff I've done to it, the tractor should be a solid running machine for a long time down the road. I'll give the paint a B+. I wanted to take a little more time as far as getting the "small" stuff painted up, but like I've said to some... I want this to be a daily used machine, not a trailer queen.

Default Good to see the kid involved

Great pictures of nice work. I always like it when the young ones are exposed to the Cub Cadet bug early. Looks like you'll have some fun with this 127. I like the attention to detail. I'm planning on finishing 2 "O"s up this weekend. It takes time to do it right but the end results are well worth it (as seen with yours).

So if the dash tin was trash, what did you put the decal on? I'm trying to figure out what to do on my 1650.

I ordered a set of decals from CC, yes, CC actually still sells decal sets for the 127. Now instead of the piece of thin tin that was original on the dash, it's a very thick (vinyl?) sticker. The vinyl looks great, but the metal tin would just have the awesome "cool" factor.

Here's a few more you can compare... That one tin I have can probably be worked with if I had the skills, but I don't.

That looks great!! I have a decal to put on my tin, but my tin is not smooth and I'm fraid it won't adhere well.

I couldn't find a replacement for mine on CC website.

I also have the same Goodyear stool. Gotta love Sams Club!!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
