Noticed no hydraulic lift - probably because they don't offer the BDU-21, just the BDU-10 transmission.

Is that paint scheme for the 50th anniversary models only? Like on the 3000 40th? Or is all hoods going to be 2 tone?

This is why my main mower is now an X700 Deere. I needed a newer mower (6 acres to mow) that my wife and kids could just jump on and run without too much trouble. I love the old rigs, but my wife does not.

After looking at how flimsy and cheap the new CC are, I had no choice but to buy the X700.

MTD, if you are listening, I really had a hard time with that choice, but my money went with Deere. Granted, it was twice the money, but it was 3 times the tractor. IT will also still be around to sit with my 782, 1450 and SO76 10 years from now.

Looks like another poorly built "home owner" special from Lowes or Home Depot to me.
IH knew how to build garden tractors......I'll stick with my 122 and 1450!!

Talking 50th ann. cadet

I too was so hoping for the anniversary model to be somewhat retro. But to be honest it looks about like what I thought it would. Oh well, it just makes me appreciate all of our old ones that much more!!!!

Just mowed the grass the other day with a '67 125 and it looked pretty dang good!

Wonder how many people will be saying that about these new ones in 40 years? http://www.onlycubcadets.net/forum/i...ons/icon10.gif

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
