I'll stick with OE recommended parts and fluids. Seems like too many cheap f**ks in this hobby, and then they wonder why stuff doesn't hold up or work well. Rarely can have it both ways. So you put diesel engine oil in your hydro? This is what this thread is about.. ![]()

![]() ![]() Now I'm really confused! I can't find in the manual where it says to use IH Hytran anywhere. Should I run Hytran in my JD 430 too? Those Deere guys will be pissed if they gotta go to an IH dealer to get fluid for their hydro's. What does IH say about using type F automatic transmission fluid? The maker of the hydro says it's okay to use. Oh, maybe IH, Deere, Steiner & Wheel Donkey want you to buy their overpriced oil for profit. ![]() Here be the manual for the pump. https://media.toro.com/servicemanuals/sd_15svc.pdf

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
