Personally, I have never used a "turbine" sprayer, but from reading this is what I''ve gathered:
The advantages of hvlp over conventional air spray is basically spraying with less pressure coming out of the gun gives you less overspray rusulting in less waste and less mess. The disadvantage is that with less pressure coming out of the gun there is less atomization of the paint rusulting in not as smooth a finish, leaving you more work after applying the paint to achieve that smooth finish. The main advantage of the turbine system is compactness and portability along with lower initial cost and you still get the hvlp advantages. However, the turbine systems are rated on the airflow that they can produce. The lower the airflow rating will produce even less atomization resulting in a less smooth finish. Needless to say, the higher the airflow the unit can produce, the more it costs. Mostly the lower rated units are used for painting things where the smootness of the finish is not a big factor (houses, walls, fences, etc.) Here is another good video explaning the airflow ratings.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=IfGzCjRO_ZY Another point is that you are buying a unit that is only used for painting. With a compressor at least you can do other things. My ![]() |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
