Yeah, I will get the wide frame spring assist, but I thought the Brinley was only for narrow frames? I have seen NFs with the Cub Cadet on the right & the Brinley on the left. I also have seen a front mount assist spring for the 450 snow throwers.

I have researched mounting the #2 tiller on the aluminum rear and have run into a brick wall. Seems it can't be done unless I swap the aluminum rear for a cast iron rear. I'll probably look for a pull behind tiller that I can use with the factory hitch plate, or continue to use the 1450 & get the longer Sleeve Hitch Main Bracket Extended 3" from Extreme Motor Works.
I make an extended sleeve hitch adapter that clears the tiller mount.

Looks like you are correct, here is a link to parts that make up the kit.

Good job you two!

Wonder why they listed the springs as an option in the standard parts list for the 582 (and similar) tractors? That is clearly an attachment part.

Thanks Jeff, I'll keep that in mind.

darkminion_17- Thank you, I thought I was using my mind. Now to figure out if these can be used with the tiller.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
