This Cub fan would certainly appreciate your insight on what I might need to do to fix that wobbly throttle shaft. Do you have any specifics on the bushing I would need? I bet I could figure it out, but any time you could save me would help get my 123 back in the garden where it belongs!

I think I found what I needed with a simple search: "throttle shaft bushing hillman"

Some awesome, detailed info!

Thank you!

I was going to point you towards that..... but I figured since you have been a member since 2010, you'd know where the tech section was.... guess not. Glad you found it.

Here is the coil I got from TSC to put on my 123:
https://www.tractorsupply.com/tsc/pr...coil-396547r93

Also got one of these:

I have thrust washers for the throttle shaft coming from Fastenal. Not easy to find those little buggers in stock here.

Took the carb off today. It had a threaded throttle shaft bushing in it, flush with the top of the hole in the carb...... stock? Was able to drill it out and unscrew it out of the hole. Most of it was intact, so
I ground off a bit of the top, to make room for a couple of those new washers. We'll see how it all goes together when the washers come in. I guess if it's too much of a hassle, I'll just order a new carb.

For that matter, I have a glow plug relay for my PowerStroke on the shelf that probably would have worked.

That is the wrong coil. You'll burn up your points. Takes a 3.5 ohm coil.

No, that is not stock.

No, a solenoid is not a solenoid. Very different designs, and configurations. Yes, your PS glow plug relay would work.... but it's a relay, not a solenoid. Don't make that mistake going the other way. Can't use a solenoid in place of a relay... besides, that gp relay is more expensive than a solenoid. Better save it. Your Ford will likely need it soon... they break down a lot.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
