Oh wow thanks.

EDIT: I need to make a list of stuff I need to get for it. The biggest is the Deck is missing the grass blade guards. Based on the IPC they bolted on. I'll have to get he CC part number off parts tree. I can make them easy enough again just depends on prices of used stuff ect.

I have to say, I'd like to see more pics of you Travelette. Looks pretty sweet! You should post some up in the General talk section!

While I agree, that working on a GT is far from a $30M jet, there is still a lot to learn. Also, an air cooled Kohler, while it is a simple engine, doesn't rebuild the same way as a Chevy 350. Welcome to the forum, and I encourage you to seek advice, and pay attention. We are here to help, but do get kind of offended if our advice is ignored, or falls on deaf ears... Ok, so that's me, but whatever. Welcome to the forum!

Cubs are pretty scarce in Arkansas aren't they? 169's are hard to find, let alone in a Cub "poor" state..... You'd likely have to ship one in, or drive... Depending where you are, it may not be that tall of an order...

You maybe right. This one came from TX. I will keep my eye's peeled now. Not opposed to go pick one up. I got a VW TDI good gas getter that gets 50mpg and has a hitch. So be nothing to go pick one up that wasn't to far away.

And are also not known for their super great tranny. Personally, I wouldn't pull a trailer with a VW. Price the trans....

Unless it's a manual trans, then it's cool.

Its a 5 speed. The autos are garbage. I added a taller .65 5th gear to it as well. Has a VR6 clutch and solid mass flywheel. It still tows fine. It tows just fine got a 4x8 trailer. Hauls my lawn mower (nothing special) and parts etc that I powder coat. Use to use it to deliver LS motors back years ago a when I was selling them.

Little up date been waiting on parts and working on it between other jobs. Got the head back on and got the covers powder coated and back on.

Also go a new muffler for pretty cheap.

Again this isn't a 100% resto but will look decent when done and should still work hard.

Also ended up getting the correct driveshaft cover as well. Ended up being $35 shipped so not to bad I would have had at least that in labor for fixing the welds on the homemade one.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
