Been a good week for me and the restoration of the 1450. I got all the yellow paint on this little critter Friday and I am tickled pink how it is looking. The white will be on next week (hopefully). I have never done a restoration on anything, but have always wanted too tackle something like this. I was gonna make this a fall/winter project but the more I get done the more I want to do I Want to thank all you guys for the information I'm getting off this web site. Larry

The hydro fins were left with no paint from the factory for heat transfer... the paint can act as an insulator and will make your hydro run hotter.
That being said... I have seen them painted before and the hydros still worked fine.. Might not be a bad idea to take a wire brush to the fins and knock some of the paint back off.. Your resto is looking great! Keep up the good work! ![]()

Been awhile since I gave an update. I got all the parts painted and have been letting it cure before reassembly begins. I have a problem though, As stated in first thread when I got the tractor it was party torn down and, A lot of the bolts and nuts are missing. Can anyone advise a web site or someway to get the right size bolts for the frame and tins for the tractor also the k321 engine.
Larry

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
