Haven't made much progress lately, with everything that's been going on there just hasn't been time. I will be setup at the local fair all next week to promote the powder coat business so it looks like it's gonna be another week, I did put all the lines coming off the spool on hand tight and test fit the gas tank to make sure it clears and it does by about an 1/8". Next week is gonna be a long one, I will be working my normal hours at the shop and then I will be up at the fair for another 5hrs.

Not to much, turns out I know somebody that's an amateur machinist and he made me these parts which will eventually become the levers for the valve.

Coming along nice , If I may suggest, add circumferential gussets to the levers where they are welded.
Easier now then later when they break ![]() |

I drilled into both pieces so the handles went in until they bottomed out on the cross shaft, I didn't just weld the rod on. I tested them out by putting them in a vice and I was pulling hard enough to start tipping the bench, should be plenty strong.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
