It will pull most anything, has a creeper too. The lack of hp is with running the deck. It does well when the grass isn't very thick but struggles in spring when the grass is even slightly thick. My 782d, or 1872 will mow it down without missing a beat. The 1872 has the 60 deck too.
I have a zenith carb for it which is supposed to give it a little more power, just haven't put it on yet. As far as I know it revs where it's supposed but I haven't hooked up a tach yet. It runs super smooth, wish the kohlers were that smooth. If had the extra money though it would get a small diesel, 20 hp would make it come to life. Mine is a 154 which is th 15 hp one, the 185 and 184 were the 18hp. I do have the three point, tiller, snow chains and snow blade too and its a nice tractor but cold use more hp. .

Well.... your 782D and 1872 both have a few more ponies and are running 1 foot less deck, so that's not really a fair comparison. I'd check the high idle RPM and timing. The motors on the LB's like timing. Plus you set them at WOT.

I haven't tried messing with the timing either. Are you saying to advance it a bit then?
Actually the deck on the 1872 has the same size deck as the LB. Both have a 60 inch cut. The diesel only has a 50c so it is smaller. Good thinking though, Ill play around with the timing some. Thanks

For some reason I am not getting updates to my thread anymore. Anyways, cleaned some more of the POs mods out, I cant seem to get it to charge the battery though. I turn the key to the "ON" position and the OHM meter, drops to Discharge like it should, but when I start the engine, the guage goes back to "0"... I tried the test on the starter/gen... turning the starter then moving the 12V to the armature to see if the pulley slows down quick and it does. I just cannot seem to figure out why its not charging... I am thinking it may be the Voltage regulator... it doesnt move at all when the engine is on... not really sure if it should move or do anything but it doesnt. Lol

Get your DVOM out and see if it's charging or not. A gauge can go bad. Could be wiring or the v-reg. Either way, it's all easy to test. It works exactly the same as an old NF with an S/G.
