I think that setup would probably work fine on a 100, since they were pepper-pot style mufflers too. Not sure it was offered, but it should work no prob. Very cool toy.

I know that some are aware of the pull start 70-71-72. It has a "coffin plate" in front that offsets the old fairbanks starter to the right side of the pto clutch in front. later ones had a angle bracket crutch to reinforce it from a head stud.

usually they broke as they only used 4 of the 5 original mounting screws as on the original cadet.

caveat: 7hp engines only!

I have a 70 recoil setup for quite some time and the Urschels borrowed it to have some fabbed. I think they named it the "coffin" plate for the first time.

Aren't recoil pedestals the most perfect pedestals ever? NO battery acid ever.

Your lucky Lew. A pull start comes in handy when the battery goes too low to turn the starter. Do you have any other tractors with this? And what engines would this fit on?

Yes the BB is a good place to put a small cooler.

Very cool. It does make it a lil nicer to have a starter. But pulls def. Have their pros to them.

Or maybe a propane tank ? I bet it would run so much better on the bottle. Now that would be different.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
