I used an ebay carb for $85 this spring, mowed great all summer, sat for two months (with the petcock open...oops) and fired right up. Plowed snow twice and runs like a song. If I had had the money I'd have bought a Kohler unit, but this one worked great for the compromise. I made sure the choke lever was the same, and the one I bought had both mixture adjustments. I went through the timing/carb adjustments three times to be sure, and I love running this engine. This was after ignition tuneup and valve adjustments.

Ya I'm gonna go with a new one I think, I don't have the time to track a factory one and order a rebuild kit.. I guess I gotta get more involved here as I plan go blow this apart and restore it come spring. I want to find a spring assist for the plow and a 3 point hitch setup and possible restore a mower deck for it to.. I'd rather this old trooper than a new rig anyday..
