This one was advertised as a Sims?. He actually had the question mark, in the title of the ad. Other than the IH Windbreaker logo on the side, I can't find any identifying tags on it. It has a metal roof, though. I think the Sims had 12v wiper motors in them? This one is manual.

Don't have a thrower for my Cub Cadet, use a 9-HP craftsman walk-behind thrower. Sis-in-law gave me an aftermarket snow shield for it a couple of winters back. Helps A LOT.

A tip-o-the-hat on that IH windbreaker find. Nothing quite like a sudden gust of wind to give you a snow shower....kinda wrecks the fun of Cub Cadet seat time.
Yeah, its toughs unexpected wind shifts that ruin the afternoon.

But in reality I could have gotten by without it, I just wanted it. Did I mention, it's red?

I spent some time getting the windbreaker set up on my 782. Some of you may remember I added power steering to it a while back. That meant I had to modify the left side front bracket, to clear the cylinder anchor point.

I do not believe these were intended to be used with the Haban snow thrower. The cut out for the chute directional control does not line up.

Also the handle of the chute adjust is right against the right side upright, while seated inside. (sorry for the bad picture.) And this really sucks, I'm going to have to modify the bracket for the crank, It's a pain the the arse like this.

I was really happy, that I only broke (1) snap while putting the vinyl panels in place. I will do a much deeper clean, when the weather breaks. It still need some TLC.

But here it is, in all it's glory!

I must admit, it is pretty awesome, to not have to worry about which way the wind was blowing, when I was clearing the driveway today. I can now snow blow whenever the tractor is moving, instead of making sure the wind is at my back.

Did I mention it's red?

Looking great on your red cub. Now we need to get you some kind of SMV sign on the back or some type of flashing light(s) hooked up to it for safety.

Yeah, a yellow flasher is next. After I fab up the hydraulic chute rotator.

Whats the sense of adding those front hydraulics, and then struggle with that crank hitting my new red cab?

Is that a deflector on the front of your tractor to keep the exhaust from melting snow on the blower and turning to ice? Brilliant, I need one of those on my 1450, about 30 min of run time and I get slush build up from melted snow snow on top of my blower.

Very nice red cab by the way, I haven't seen very many of those before.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
