This doesn't look good. I think this rim is done. When I removed the left wheel the bearing fell out. I think that means I need a new rim, correct?

The engine was easy to remove because the 2 forward bolts weren't't there. Lower ISOs shot!

Left brake linings

Brake linings 1/16" thick. Replace?

This link will take you to a video I made showing the steering gearbox slop. The joint between the tube and box flexes. The whole thing is moving. I think I need a new column.

This link will take you to a video I made of teh front axle joint. The front axle has play when you rock it forward and backward. Do I need to shim the axle connection to the bracket?

This link will take you to a video of me rocking the spindle on the front axle. There is excessive play when you rock the spindle up and down. Is there a way to fix this?

I made a list of what I need to get this tractor running right:

• Mule drive adjustment lever that attaches to the right pulley
• Lower grill screen
• Headlight panel complete with screen, bulbs, grommets, emblem and mounting screws
• Muffler
• Front hood casting that the hinge bolts to
Front rim
(4) wheel bearings
Axle play???
Spindle play???
ISO mounts
• Fuel tank (I may only need the valve and grommet – I have to measure it)
• Air filter complete with engine half including three mounting screws, cover including rubber seal and rubber hose that goes to the blower housing
Steering column
• Brake safety switch arm
• Front and rear rag joints
Cooling fan
Self-aligning ball bushing on hydro end of driveshaft
• Choke cable (looking for one with a black handle that isn’t faded)
• Throttle cable (looking for one with a black handle that isn’t faded)
• Hydro lever compete with black end (not faded, decent chrome)
• Hydro speed stop
• Fiberglass dash and tin
• Hydraulic lift lever complete with linkage to valve (looking for one with good chrome and plastic)
• Key switch
• Headlight switch
• Tractor wiring harness
• Seat
• Battery hold-down, complete (2 if you have them)
• Tail lights, complete
• Brake pads, both sides

All 4 tires (non hold air,all dry-rotted and cracked)

This doesn't include going through the engine.

All my wife wants to know is how much it will cost.

I had some time after doing some yard work to remove the lift valve. It didn't want to move at first but I got it loosened up. The IPL shows 2 o-rings in the bore but it looks like there are many o-rings in there. Does anyone know if there is a write up on how to rebuild these valves?

I don't think you can, no. It won't allow you to. Better to upload them, or link them to a photobucket account or something similar.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
