I'm trying pal, just the 800 maybe, it will be rough for a while but I will get it. The 105 is going to be for sale or parts, it has the hydraulic lift option. I'm sure someone could use that and a lot of other stuff on it.

Got the engine out and clutch, ISO mounts bad, going to do cradle mod while it's out. Steering column rebuilt, ordered some parts from Patton acres that I needed. Got the clutch apart today, everything was seized but it will be good. Going to try to find another machine shop to turn my pressure plates since the one that has my 301 block from the 123 is too busy. Big bolt that goes in back of spring assist is half backed out and frozen, had to use heat to get the floor plate bolts out and looks like I will have to do the same with spring assist, just don't want to take temper out of spring but I kind of have no choice. Put cheapy muffler on k181 until I fab up my non 800 but quiet line muffler. And of course the best part is getting some time with Mikey who always loves "workin with daddy". Here's some pics

Very cool, a gear drive QL is something I've been wanting. Nice score, and good job so far. I believe the spring on your assist is the same used on the later front blades, in case you need one.

Very nice!
Ya know, with all that "time investment" that Mikey will have into this tractor, it'll be a real nail-biter when he asks, "Can I drive?!" Good on you! I think that EVERY boy needs to learn a little bit of mechanix. It helps them when they're older, and equipment seems to last longer under them! Keep us informed!

Well just a small update, got parts in from Patton acres who are very fast and easy to deal with by the way. Rebuilt the clutch and did the cradle mod today, side panel thumbscrews, and new to me ISO mounts too. Welder got a workout too since my patience wore thin with backing out the siezed spring assist bolt so needless to say i had to weld a new 1/2 x13 nut and washer on it because the big adjuster screw snapped off inside the end of the spring. Thanks to mr. Christensen for the tech write up here, very helpful and this site has everything we need for our cubs. Engine is night and day difference now when it comes to movement and barely shakes compared to before, much better. I'm going to slowly fix everything and then tear it all down in a couple months for a refurb.

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
