--- I honestly can't believe no one mentioned the most obvious use for these things.... The best, heavy duty, shop trash can you will ever see. We pop the rings off of the top, cut the tops out with a jig saw, and snap the rings back on for a nice finished look. We've been using the same 8 drums for crushed (with a 2" pneumatic cylinder @ 140psi... meaning REALLY crushed) aluminum cans for about 25 years now... Each weighs about 140lbs when full of aluminum and we've never broken one! ![]() |

It and the 1872 ended up as part of the deal on this one. ![]() They are all spoken for!! I have one as a trash can (actually two!!) in the shop. I set a bag of bird seed in one, to keep it away from the mice. They JUMPED IN!! They stayed!! ![]() |

Baaaaaa!!! A diesel cub will never be mine!!...
...to tell the truth, I'm glad it happened this way because I *really* shouldn't spend the cash and I absolutely have no where to put it....... but I would have dealed with it anyhow on both counts. ![]() Well, the deal still stands if you want free barrels! Bring... Well...? Yourself and an appetite for free food, beer, and my depressingly beat up cubs and you can take them. Dad just takes them into the recycling center. (My memory is foggy here, but I think he may have said he doesn't get methanol that way anymore. I'll follow up on Sat and let you know, assuming you're dead serious about a 1800 mile round trip for $100 of "free" barrels, and looking at my sadly neglected cub gallery). |

Max
The smoker was listed on C-list along with the 1872 I took in trade from CAD towards the 2284 and I did not get one call from an OCC member. They both sold to a guy in TN that found the add on C-list and he bought both of them. CAD's 2284 was listed on OCC last year for what he bought it for and I will let him be the judge as to whether it was a fair deal or not. ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
