APCO is about the worst company for maintaining the right of way for their lines. I have a cousin that works for them and in the past 12 years the budget for yearly line maintenance (right of way) has been cut by 65% in southern wv/southwest va.

Here in nashville we had a freak wind blow through and toppled a few trees and bent a railroad cross bar at a perfect 90* angle yesterday.

NES or Nashville Electric Service has a terrible history of butchering trees around their lines, and even those no where close to them! Had a guy close to us once and he asked then to have one trimmed to get it out of the lines so they wouldnt get in the way. NES came out and clear cut his property, front and back! In the mid 90's was the worst as i remember several NES trucks being vandalized right in the streets, and one set on fire, with workers yelling at property owners that they have the right to take any tree they deem fit to remove. Thankfully they have been reorganized and no longer run rouge here in nashville, but they are still greatly disliked.
