You would be surprised just how those logs are packed together, I do most of the time have a problem getting them apart but for the good. AND all the kids and my 2 included all know that pile is off limits.

O K just thought I'd mention it

I had a mechanic I worked next to in the 90,s He bought a atv 4wheeler for his son one day his son envited a friend over to play , he ( the mechanic ) supervized and let them ride it carefully and took the key from it and put it in a closet where it was kept. so no one would ride it when he was gone . the friend talked the son into getting the key and yes the friend rode it and rolled it and was seriously injured . both familys where even friends . last time I talked to him he had spent $30,000 on legal

What are you burning that can eat that much wood in a season? I and most people I know burn about 4 cords per year in a modern stove going 24/7. That must be 8 or 9 cords there.

Steve, I live in an old 2 story farm house that my Great Grandfather built in the late 40's so it is not the warmist but.

Yep, a wood furnace, mine in a big old steel king, just load it up twice a day and most of the time it's good.

Not able to run water with this one! And this is an inside the house model not one of those BIG ones that sit outside but would like to have one of those someday.

If you ever choose to upgrade, look into the modern high efficiency boilers. You could probably get another half a season out of that wood pile and make your hot water too. The new stuff is so much better. I upgraded my wood stove from an old franklin style stove to a modern soapstone stove with a catalytic combuster and cut my wood use by 1 cord, and my propane use by about $2000/year...and my drafty old house is much more comfortable.
