I used the TSC paint on the frame but the tins will be Martin S 2 stage. that way I can color sand it and polish it to a mirror shine.
IH red Martin Senour #99-4115-n then cross that # to the base/clear. almost 50 a qt. matin clear is junk . no UV protection. so I'll use ppg concept clear. I'll also clear over the frame. ( yes clear will go over enamel if hardener was used in it. ) TSC paint isnt UV frendly either. so I'll clear it too to keep it from sun fade. it'll be a $$$ paint job. but it'll be the last one it'll ever need. and being a solid color , chips and scratches will be an easy fix to blend

thanks guys, I love doing this kind of work. its just a test for me to see how picky I can be on it.
to brake up all the red , I painted the stearing rods trim black. did the clutch rod the same, but painted the spring olive drab like most all springs and clips that come from the factory. and got the decal on the tunnel cover. I added the call out to the top. ![]() ![]() ![]()

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
