Well, I had caught up with Merk down in Sugarcreek Ohio at the tractor show. I got the k241 home! Along with 2 steering gear rebuilds, a creeper inspection, a new drive shaft with complete rebuild, and the carb was rebuilt too!
Now I have been too busy to get the 72 up and going. It sure was nice to have found someone here at OCC that can help you out. Thanks again Merk, and I will post when I'am ready to. ~ john

Well, its been along time coming. I have started the process of preparing my rebuilt Kohler K241/K301 that Merk had done for me, he also took time to post pictures and document of the rebuild. I'm a little ahead of these pictures, and hope to post some more up shortly.
![]() ![]() ![]() You will notice that the block is rusty. How it got that way is of no importance, so I wont recommend anything I deem unsafe. Needless to say, the Dremel Tool with a variety of Dremel wire brushes, and other Dremel attachments prepared the block. Still more to clean about the block.

You mean a warm pussy

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
