Default Found a 106

I bought a Cub 1200 a few weeks ago to rebuild but I really wanted a narrow frame. So I heard from a guy at work his buddy has an old cub in the shed. And there it was a 106. Not to sure if it runs as its been sitting for a few years but it is in pretty decent shape with a real solid 42 inch deck. Will update tomorrow after I get a better look at it.

Default 106

the 106 is a nice machine. I have one with the deck, snow blower, push blade and rototiller. Only problem I've had was the elec lift.

I got the it painted and put the dash tower, Lift support, and floorboard supports back on and gave it another few coats. This week im going to run some wires install the engine. See how it runs then pull it back out and paint that with the hood and grill and start on assembly.

Nice find on the 106!! Sure is nice to casually talk to someone about cubs and he says, "I've got a buddy with an old cub he wants to sell." They usually don't look as nice as this one. Sweet find!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
