All good ideas, I replaced the ignition switch, it was shot. When I got it home it wouldn't turn over, found the switch was bad, as I had it apart I cleaned up the plug, so I'm thinking that's not it.
I've got power to the points, just checked that, could it be the points?

Hey Bill, checked everything as you mentioned, parts are from my 122 that work fine. I checked for power with test light at the points wit hswitch on. I don't have a meter to use, just a light.
I also don't see any ground strap what so ever, think I should fab one up? Just to safe.
The points are the one's that were in the tractor when I brought it home, I did use some sand paper on them, to clean em' up.
I'm going out to cut the lawn and cool off, this thing is driving me crazy, and God knows it wouldn't be a real far trip

Well it runs, not real pretty, but it runs.
Found where the ground wire should have been, the PO must have needed a short wire for something and removed it
Made up a new one and cleaned up the attachment points and away it went, so to speak.
Well I sure do appriciate everyone chimming in with your suggestions, really helped alot.
If I wasn't so far away, the cold ones would be on me

Amazing how a tiny little ground wire can throw a monkey wrench into the whole works and drive you crazy, LOL. I am glad to hear it is now making some noise.
