Sharp looking 72, and I like those vintage tires! Congrats on your find
![]() wadej, Welcome to OCC! Do you mean cub cadet yellow, or Cub Cadet Yellow? The first color would be a knock off of the second color. I have seen nice work with both paint, but I personally use only the Cub Cadet 759-3258 Yellow { old style for a model 72 } I buy from my local Cub Cadet dealership. The non-copy right color can be found at TSC, ACE, just about any hardware shops. Hope this helps! I wonder why there is no sponsor who deals Cub Cadet paints. Seems there is everything but the paint to be bought. lol! ![]()

This was the picture that the P.O took and sent to me. I know virtually nothing about cub cadet carts. This guy had literally had 3 barns full of antique garden tractors and attachments, all makes and models, and some show quality....needless to say i would not be surprised if the cart is cub cadet. I might have a free sears suburban from my new neighbor to trade the guy for the tiller i need to put behind my 104.

if you look up my 104 refresh thread you can see the valspar cub cadet yellow. Its the yellow color that is used on the current cub cadets. Valspar Transportation Yellow is a closer match to the old school cubs. My painting was done with rattle cans so YMMV

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
