at long last. the white shepard struck. not with a one-two punch, but just a graze. got a chance to go through the motion of clearing snow, at least. it wasn't much of a challenge, but it sure was fun. i could have done that in a pair of shorts and a t-shirt, my blood was pumping so fast. i did mage to loose a few nuts and bolts, broke a clevis pin and forgot to change the bar on the bottom of the thrower. all in all it went pretty smooth. the plow was on the "original", and it outperformed the 109 w/ the blower. i could have driven through the neighborhood in third gear, clearing the walkway, if it wasn't for the loose bolts. i thought i tightened all those. the blower will be a great addition, once i adjust the runners. it clogged on the first pass which i expected, but i think with the correct bar on there, it will be fine. i used a teflon polish on both the plow and inside the blower housing/shute. it's the same product i use on the hull of my aluminum boat. i think though on the blower, i need to repaint, as the surface is quite rusty and grimy. not the ideal surface to be putting polish on.
enough of the chit-chat, here's some action shots.

I had to drill a couple of holes to move the hanger rod to meet the brackets, I'm using a chain to lift with instead of a rod, and the lifting handle bracket on my 122 is gone (scratched paint suggests it had one once), so I've u-bolted the chain onto the lifting handle for now. Here's a couple of pictures for everyone.

You know, now that I'm ready, it probably won't snow much around here...

.

That's a great looking blade set up there! I sometimes use a steel cable and some clamps as a lift rod. You can pick up that steel cable at a TSC or local hardware store and the clamps for about $3 and it is rated at about 720lbs. Super deal!

Great action shots! Wish I had some of that snow and some of that fun. We got a tease yesterday, but it wasn't enough. Can't wait to get my snow equipment in action. .....I also look around the neighborhood to clear other people's snow just to get some more seat time since I can get mine done in about 5-10 min......talk about an addict trying to get a fix.

Nice 149! I like the custom paint job and the number decals!

How or where did you get those decals?

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
