I sat and read this thread through, with my breakfast, this morning. I have a newly acquired 149,with the K301 Magnum 12. I love what you have done with yours. I won't be able to do the "restro", but some of your "mods" hopefully, will eventually be incorporated into my "yella' mule".
Thank you so much, for the extra effort, in sharing with us the progress, with pictures of before and after.

That looks heavy duty enough to store munitions in it.

Nice work!

Thanks guys. The sides are 1/4" thick and the bottom and lid will be 10ga. I want it to be able to take a hit just in case I run into something or if I decide to unbolt the lid and hang suitcase weights from it.

Adam,
Your tractor turned out awesome. Not sure I would mow with that unit. think you should find another tractor and save that one!
Regards,
Chris

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
