They are Carlisle Super Lugs and filled with fluid to climb a steep backyard at our rental property which at least last year our tenant has his own rider now. When we lived there I wore out a K301 and realized we needed a pressure lube engine/tractor. I won this 1440 on ebay for $256 with 438 hrs. but a crappy mowing deck plus it was only running on one cylinder. We drove to Dalton,GA (at a pawn shop) to PU,seller was eager to load it and after I heard it run I knew there was an issue but was not stated in his listing(and a shifting issue!).By now I'm getting madder by the second and telling myself "strap it down and get out of here before I do something wrong". 6 hr round trip, next day I pulled the junk deck, pressure washed, blew it dry and limped it in the shop. Order 2 new coil packs, one was dead which was the miss.I added the Lugs later.

Sounds like you saved that 1440 and brought it back to life. Do you like the Super Lugs better than the Tru Powers? I sure am envious of your Cub collection!

If you are going to break ground with a plow I would go with the Tru Power, they seem to fit the plow row better W/a 10" mold board plow. I have two sets of Deestones's on my 1250 and 149,two reasons I like these imports: 1;they are 6 ply and 2; they really lay in a plow row nicely. I get most of my rubber from Tuckertire on ebay, tri rib fronts as well...and they ship fast too!

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
