Hey Diz!!!! How's it going good buddy!!!!

Hey Diz, that cub looks sharp with those new ags!!!! If you're like me, I'm pretty sure you've been looking for something to pull. Just to see how well the new ags will hook themselves to the ground and also just to admire the tread marks that the tires leave behind. I know I'm always doing that.lol Take care good buddy!!!!

Diz Jr,

How do those fit with a deck? I see the picture of your 1450 with a deck. Are those 10.50's also?
The reason I ask is because I put some 10.50 turfs on the 129 and the deck wheels want to bite into the tire a little bit. I thought about trying to turn the deck wheel bolts around and gain about a 1/4 inch. I really like the look of the wide tire but I think I'm gonna go back to 8.50's for the deck. Or is the shape of the ag more rounded so that there isn't a problem?

Hi RPalmer,

Yes the 1450 has 23x10.5-12 on it. Never had any issues with the deck.

I have'nt tried to put a deck on the 149 yet. So i cant be much help there.

The 169 has the same size tires on it and no issues with the deck, But i dont have gage wheels on the deck. Just runners on each edge. Thats the way it was when i got it. Seems to do great.

If your rear guage wheels can be adjusted down, put smaller diameter guage wheels on. It shouldn't hurt if you can adjust them down to compensate for the smaller diameter.

aagitch,

I guess my wording was off. It's not the gage wheel biting into the tire. It's the nut that holds the gage wheel to the deck.

I know 10.50's were an option from the factory but maybe meant to be used with a deck larger than 42".

On my 1450 sporting 23-10.50 x 12 Carlisle Super Lugs with 44A deck I had to grind down the end of the bolt holding the gauge wheel on so it wouldn't cut into the lugs on the inside of the tires. Also, if you let the gauge wheels ride on the ground instead of just above the ground, during turns the wheels with catch grass and pull the deck and end of the bolt into the tire.

Diz...did you have to use different/wider rims? I had been planning on putting wider ones on my 124 (it has 23x8.5-12 on it)and after seeing them on yours I definately will. They remind me of the meats I had on my '70 Chevelle. Fill

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
