For the money it would cost to purchase and ship one to you it’s not worth it. For that kind of money I’d buy a real tractor like a Kubota or something similar. I have just about every tiller Cub ever made except the 308 and there isn’t one of them that even comes close to my Kubota with a cat 1 tiller.

Oak I agree, I dont have a large garden anymore- we have a fenced in raised garden now. the rototiller worked fine for me but after it sat in the barn taking up space for six or seven years I sold it. Mine was not the cub brand. I think it was a wheel horse. I really dont rememeber much other than it was red and too heavy for me to move without attaching it to the tractor. The tiller for my 106 is not far off from wearing out its welcome in my barn!

My cousin in Wales doesn't have an issue getting 3-point attachments. He has one of Bill Ruegg's 3-point hitches. Mind you, I did the shipping and the purchases over here, and he sent me the money.

The Cub is limited to a 2000 rpm rear pto and that's the problem. If the OP is just wanting to pull a plow or rear blade then I'd just do some type of sleeve hitch but then again it would take a bunch of fab work on a diesel.
I do not know what an older machine costs across the big pond but here in the states you can get something like this for around $2500 and it has a cat 1 hitch with 540 rear pto. Kubota L2201.jpg

Across the pond, used machines are much more expensive compared to what we are used to; even with high hours, they fetch a pretty penny over there. To get something used at the prices you're talking about, it would be in very, very rough shape. You don't realize how easy we have it here on this side of the Atlantic with used or new equipment prices

I have to second Sergeant's comment about the cost of used machinery in Europe but particularly in Ireland. Spending the equivalent of $5000 would buy you a very tired machine with a whole new set of issues. There is a massive export market of machinery to Africa in the EU at the moment which has hoovered up all of the decent used equipment leaving machines you don't want to touch, or very expensive almost new machines.
Those shipping costs from the States are too much for my pocket so I'm going to try to fabricate my own hitch (without PTO which I agree with another comment, I'll probably rarely use given it's so hard to find the implements here). Others appear to have done it successfully so it's worth a try. I'm assuming no hitch plans, drawings or measurements exist for fabrication purposes? (I suppose if they do they have been created for commercial purposes). If anyone is aware of a set of plans for sale, I'd be open to paying. |

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.
MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
