The low miles aren't the problem and it runs like new only it gets about 6 to 8 mpg and so it's not used often but I've about carried 2 tons of carpet it from 2 hours away from me and even in terrain with steep hills where I bought the carpet it carried it down the road no problem going an average 60-65. It has a 40 gallon and a13 gallon gas tank. If the back weren't so high or I made the right ramps it would be a good Cub Cadet hauler but it is a little risky putting a Cub Cadet up there with 8.5 ft. ramps. Maybe using a beefed up tommy lift would do it.

Nice Cub hauler! My travellette is the same color but with a flat finish man I have to get that thing going, I would be one happy camper to have a nice one like that.

Our differences aside, moving forward

I'm in awe of your collection of IH "toys" very nice deal, I have a 1450 that I'm working on as I get time (very little of that). Daddy had a good Kohler 341 on a old snapper ( I think it was the same as a case) that I was amazed at the power. However it needed a good muffler, and it was mounted similar or the same as or IH cubs on the rubber mounts, still it had some shake to it, and all the mounts were in great shape. On the up side, there is a noticeable power increase, not so much in say grass cutting. but when you hook something to the k 341 that's when you know you have a k 341.

You have a great collection, and if you have had to fix all the little quirks that are normal on these, and just normal wear with age that is a huge task

Clint

Thanks Guys!
If I can't figure out the problem in my post under hot throttle cable I may combine the 1650 with the 1450 sheet metal life is too short and the 1650 can have a quick makeover and if the 1450 is performing like crap it might as well look the part

Cub Cadet is a premium line of outdoor power equipment, established in 1961 as part of International Harvester. During the 1960s, IH initiated an entirely new line of lawn and garden equipment aimed at the owners rural homes with large yards and private gardens. There were a wide variety of Cub Cadet branded and after-market attachments available; including mowers, blades, snow blowers, front loaders, plows, carts, etc. Cub Cadet advertising at that time harped on their thorough testing by "boys - acknowledged by many as the world's worst destructive force!". Cub Cadets became known for their dependability and rugged construction.

MTD Products, Inc. of Cleveland, Ohio purchased the Cub Cadet brand from International Harvester in 1981. Cub Cadet was held as a wholly owned subsidiary for many years following this acquisition, which allowed them to operate independently. Recently, MTD has taken a more aggressive role and integrated Cub Cadet into its other lines of power equipment.
